Dr. Tisdale is Professor, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Purdue University, Indianapolis, Indiana; and Adjunct Associate Professor, School of Medicine, Indiana University, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Tisdale obtained a BScPharm from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, and a PharmD from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Cardiovascular Therapeutics at Hartford Hospital and the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Tisdale’s research interests are in the area of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy, focusing on prevention and treatment of atrial fibrillation; mechanisms, risk factors, and management of drug-induced arrhythmias; and pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of cardiovascular drugs in specific populations, particularly in patients with heart failure. His work has been funded by the American Heart Association and numerous foundations, and has resulted in the publication of over 50 journal articles and book chapters. Dr. Tisdale is the co-editor (with Douglas Miller, PharmD) of the book entitled, “Drug-Induced Diseases: Detection, Prevention and Management” which was published in August, 2005.
From 2001-2004, Dr. Tisdale was a member of the Board of Regents of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. He currently serves as Chair, Clinical Sciences Section, Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science, American Pharmacists Association, and is President-Elect of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
