Describe new targets and novel pharmacologic agents that could have a potential role in the management of sepsis.
Discuss the role of biomarkers in diagnosing sepsis, tailoring medication therapy, and predicting outcomes in critically ill patients.
Evaluate the literature supporting sepsis bundles and the initiation of Early Goal-Directed Therapy (EGDT) in critically ill patients with sepsis.
Evaluate treatment strategies, including the selection of appropriate antimicrobial agents as well as vasopressor selection and use of drotrecogin alfa (activated).
