- Describe new targets and novel pharmacologic agents that could have a potential role in the management of sepsis.
- Discuss the role of biomarkers in diagnosing sepsis, tailoring medication therapy, and predicting outcomes in critically ill patients.
- Evaluate the literature supporting sepsis bundles and the initiation of Early Goal-Directed Therapy (EGDT) in critically ill patients with sepsis.
- Evaluate treatment strategies, including the selection of appropriate antimicrobial agents as well as vasopressor selection and use of drotrecogin alfa (activated).
