Description
Beyond the likely 2012 presidential contest between President Obama and the Republican challenger, there will be losers and gainers in the House and Senate that will impact health care reform at the state and national level. In addition to the results of last November's mid-term congressional election, the results of the 2010 census translates into congressional districts being gained in the South and West, and lost in the North and Midwest for the 2012 election. Will this further solidify Republican control of the House? In the Senate, with 23 Democratic seats vs. 10 GOP seats on the 2012 ballot, will the entire Congress be controlled by the GOP and lead to further divided government? Against this backdrop, what will be the fate of health care reform? Will Congress repeal and replace it? Will the Obama Administration forge ahead and implement the new law? How will the states influence how it is implemented? Participate in this exciting presentation designed to prepare you to manage the real impact of these issues on your career.
- Describe the political dynamics of the voting electorate and the influence of congressional redistricting on the 2012 election.
- Explain the federal legislative and regulatory issues impacting health-system pharmacy.
- Explain the state legislative and regulatory issues impacting health-system pharmacy.
