Description
With passage of historic health care reform legislation, installment of new leadership within HRSA’s Office of Pharmacy Affairs, and final adoption of new contract pharmacy guidelines, all 340B stakeholders will need to be prepared for the most dramatic changes to the drug discount program since its inception. These changes include the addition of new hospital entities, limited access to orphan drugs, revisions to the 340B ceiling price calculation and several new requirements for providers, wholesalers, and manufacturers.
- Describe critical program changes post-health care reform necessary to maintain a compliant program.
- Describe the complexities involved in drug manufacturers' calculating 340B ceiling pricing and administering the 340B pricing to eligible entities.
- Identify the major stakeholders and administrators in the 340B program.
- List the benefits of accessing HRSAs 340B Prime Vendor for achieving additional savings and value on covered drugs and other value added services.
