When it comes to addressing medication safety, pediatrics presents a unique set of challenges that impact our smallest, most vulnerable patients. In this refresher on pediatric-specific issues, you’ll sharpen your skills in standardization, mathematical competency, integration of weight-based dosing regiments, and electronic record systems.
- Apply the 5 Cs of effective teamwork in your practice setting.
- Describe a specific success story in pediatric medication safety and how reorganizing workflow can improve overall medication safety.
- Describe the role and components of an effective pediatric medication safety committee.
- Identify methods to effectively target, review, and reduce medication errors specific to pediatrics.
