Sunita C. Jones is a primary care clinical pharmacist from the Orlando VA Medical Center. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 2006 and completed a Primary Care Residency at the Orlando VA in 2007. In addition, she also received her Teaching Certification from the University of Florida in 2007. She has been employed as a VA pharmacist for 3 years, with the majority of her time focused on women’s health.

Laurie Zephyrin, National Director for Reproductive Health,
Department of Veterans Affairs, Women Veterans Health Strategic Healthcare Group
Dr. Laurie C. Zephyrin is the national Director for Reproductive Health with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Women Veterans Health Strategic Healthcare Group. In this capacity, she is responsible for leading development and implementation of new initiatives (programs/research/policy) related to reproductive health in women Veterans. Previously, as Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, Clinical Population and Family Health and Clinical Health Policy and Management at Columbia University, she practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology, supervised and taught residents and medical students and led a grant portfolio which focused on decision analysis to predict the risk benefit of multiple versus single course corticosteroid use in the management of preterm labor. She previously served as a White House Fellow at the Department of Veterans Affairs as Special Assistant to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs working on issues related to emergency preparedness and women veteran health.
Dr. Zephyrin, a Board-Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist, was a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at Johns Hopkins Medical School and a Physician in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Johns Hopkins Medical Institution. While at Johns Hopkins, she co-authored “Doughnut Holes and Price Controls” in Health Affairs; designed and completed a study evaluating quality of life in HIV positive patients; and implemented a study evaluating the delivery of cervical cancer screening services to several hundred women living with HIV. Dr. Zephyrin completed her training at Harvard’s Integrated Residency Training Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brigham and Women's Hospital-Massachusetts General Hospital. She served as Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harvard Medical School and Chair of the Massachusetts section of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Zephyrin has organized workshops for women on HIV education and general women’s health domestically and in South Africa. As Co-Director for Postgraduate Ob/Gyn Training, she works on global women’s health issues related to human resource capacity building in Eritrea.
Dr. Zephyrin is a recipient of the 2005 American Medical Association Foundation Leadership Award and is an Emerging Leaders Life Fellow with the South Africa-Duke Center for Leadership and Public Values. She holds a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences, cum laude, from the City College of New York, an MD from the New York University School of Medicine, and an MPH and MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
