Participants of this session are encouraged to also attend, “Professionalism—An Essential Component of the Pharmacy Practice Model” on Wednesday, June 9, 10:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
- Define and explain the significance of the following terms and concepts to the profession of pharmacy: ethics, morals, values, ethical covenant, code of ethics, moral salience, and absolute and relative morality.
- Explain the relationship between informed consent, patient autonomy, and ethical behavior.
- Identify the roles of pharmacy education, pharmacists, pharmacy associations, and state boards in meeting pharmacy's social contract.
- Identify trends in ethical and unethical behavior in pharmacy.
