Dr. Burkiewicz is an Associate Professor, Pharmacy Practice (with tenure) and PGY1 Residency Program Director at Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy in Downers Grove, IL. She received her PharmD at the University of Michigan and completed residency training at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Burkiewicz currently serves as Treasurer of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. She also serves on the Evidence-Based Practice Panel of the Annals of Pharmacotherapy and the editorial board for the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy. Her research interests include methods to optimize evidence-based practice, residency training, and documentation of clinical pharmacy services in ambulatory care. Dr. Burkiewicz currently practices at the Mercy Family Health Center in Chicago, where she provides care in the areas of internal medicine, anticoagulation and osteoporosis. She practices in an interdisciplinary osteoporosis clinic with two other clinical pharmacists and a rheumatologist.
