Dr. Wayne F. Conrad is Professor and Chair of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences at the University of Cincinnati, James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo and the University of Kentucky. He completed post-graduate residency training at Springfield City Hospital and is a fellow of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. Dr. Conrad is a former faculty member of the University of Kentucky and State University of New York at Buffalo colleges of pharmacy.
Dr. Conrad has more than 20 years experience as a Director of Pharmacy, residency program director and preceptor at three academic science centers. He has held leadership positions in local, state and national pharmacy organizations. He has been a consultant for the ASHP Accreditation Services Division since 1988. Dr. Conrad was project director for the ASHP Model for Pharmacy Residency Learning Demonstration Project that was completed in 1996 and resulted in the Residency Learning System, a systematic approach to training that is used by most pharmacy residency programs today. Other research interests include development of innovative pharmacy services, medication safety and the scholarship of teaching. He has authored numerous publications and made many presentations about a systematic approach to education and training as well as pharmacy practice issues.
