Dr. Cohen is Professor, Department of Pharmacotherapy at Washington State University College of
Pharmacy in Spokane, and previously also served as Department Chairman. He is also Assistant
Director for Psychopharmacology Research and Training for WIMIRT (Washington Institute for Mental
Illness Research and Training). Dr. Cohen is a Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist and is currently
a member of the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Psychiatric Pharmacy Specialty Council. He
also serves as a member of the United States Pharmacopeia Psychiatry Expert Committee.
Previously, Dr. Cohen was Professor of Psychiatry, Medicine and Clinical Pharmacy at the University
of Cincinnati Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy. Dr. Cohen has also served as Director of the Office
of Clinical Trials for the University of Cincinnati.

Charles W. Jastram, Jr. Pharm.D., FASHP is Associate Professor Department Head of Department of Clinical and Administrative Sciences at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. His department includes 36 clinical faculty at 3 campuses (Monroe, Shreveport and Baton Rouge), 5 pharmacy administration faculty, 4 PGY1 residents and 10 support personnel. His clinical areas of interest are surgical critical care and clinical nutrition. He completed his B.S. and Pharm.D. degrees at Xavier University of Louisiana. Dr. Jastram is active in several national, regional and local professional organizations including: American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP), American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), and American Society for Parental and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN). He has held several leadership positions within these organizations including ASHP Chair of the Council on Organizational Affairs and Committee on Nominations, Louisiana delegate to ASHP House of Delegates for 8 years and National Clinical Skills Competition judge. He is past President of the Louisiana (LSHP) and Southeast Louisiana (SELSHP) Societies of Health-System Pharmacists.
Dr. Jastram is widely published and is an ASHPs PharmPrep Section Editor. He has presented at state, national and international meetings. Charles has received the LSHP Leadership Award, SELSHP Pharmacist of the Year and is a Fellow of ASHP.

James Karboski,

PROFESSIONAL POSITION
James A. Karboski, Pharm.D. is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy in the Division of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. He is also the Co-Director of the Adult Internal Medicine residency program at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas.
EDUCATION
Dr. Karboski earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Washington State University in 1985. Subsequently, Dr. Karboski earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio in 1987. He continued his training in Texas where he completed a Clinical Sciences Fellowship in Pharmacokinetics at the University of Texas at Austin. While a faculty member at the University of Iowa, Dr. Karboski was a Geriatrics Fellow of the Iowa Geriatrics Education Center.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Dr. Karboski has authored many peer-reviewed and professional publications and has numerous presentations before various state and national professional and scientific groups. Dr. Karboski is recognized for his contributions to teaching excellence and the use of technology in teaching.
