Justine Coffey,

Justine Coffey currently works as the director of federal regulatory affairs for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In this position, she advocates ASHPs positions before federal agencies whose regulatory and rulemaking authority impacts on health-system pharmacy. Previously, Justine worked as a consultant, providing health policy consulting services to individual clients and advising state government agencies on federal and state laws, regulations, and policies impacting on Medicaid and other state programs. From 2002 to 2005, she worked for the American Pharmacists Association, first as a policy and regulatory writer, and then as a senior policy analyst handling 340B Drug Pricing Program issues for the HRSA Pharmacy Services Support Center. Justine received her JD degree from American Universitys Washington College of Law and her LLM degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Joseph Hill,
MA, Director, Federal Legislative Affairs,

Joseph Hill currently serves as director of federal legislative affairs for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He advocates ASHPs positions on critical issues before members of Congress and their staff. Prior to that he was government affairs manager for the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists where he represented ASCP before state and federal legislators. Mr. Hill holds a Master of Arts degree in political science from the University of Tennessee and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Brian Meyer,

Brian Meyer is Director of the Government Affairs Division for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He has over twenty-five years of association experience in the government affairs area with Washington, DC based national organizations. Previously, Brian served as ASHPs Senior Government Affairs Associate and also managed the Societys state legislative and regulatory activities. In addition, Brian directed ASHPs federal regulatory and legislative affairs functions and represented ASHP before Congress and executive agencies.
Prior to joining ASHP, he served in various government affairs positions with the American Bankers Association. He graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC with a BA in Politics and received his MBA from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD.

Kasey Thompson,
PharmD, Vice President, Policy, Planning, and Communications,
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
Dr. Kasey Thompson is Vice President of the Office of Policy, Planning and Communications, and Director of the Practice Standards Division at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) in Bethesda, Maryland. He previously served as the Director of the ASHP Center on Patient Safety, and the Director of the ASHP Practice Standards and Quality Division.
Dr. Thompson has published numerous articles, editorials, and book chapters on medication-use safety and quality. He is co-editor along with Dr. Henri R. Manasse, Jr., of the 2005 book: Medication Safety: A Guide for Health Care Facilities. Dr. Thompson has given presentations nationally and internationally, and has served on numerous advisory committees for the federal government, and other public and private sector organizations. As a spokesperson for ASHP, Dr. Thompson has appeared on CNN, CNBC, NBC; and has been quoted in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Business Week, LA Times, and various other print and electronic media outlets.
Dr. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in cellular biology from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma; and Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Oklahoma, College of Pharmacy.

Geralyn Trujillo,
MPP, Director, State Government Affairs,
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
Geralyn M. Trujillo
Geralyn has been the Director of State Government Affairs with ASHP since 2008. As the primary liaison between ASHPs Government Affairs Division and its affiliates, she monitors all state legislative and regulatory activity that impacts the practice of hospital and health-system pharmacy. Geralyn focuses specifically on the licensing and regulation of pharmacy practice in the states, legislative issues such as generic substitution, medication therapy management, and information technology, as well as the ASHP initiative to establish standards for the education, training, and certification of pharmacy technicians. Prior to joining ASHP, she was the Senior Health Policy Analyst for State Issues with the American Academy of Actuaries, the professionalism and public policy arm of U.S. actuaries. While at the Academy, her work concentrated on state health insurance issues, as well as Medicaid, Medicare Part D, long-term care, and disease management programs. Prior to the Academy, she worked with the American Psychiatric Association and the Virginia State Department of Health.
Geralyn earned her Masters in Public Policy, with a concentration in Public Administration, from the American University in Washington, D.C. She earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from Virginia Commonwealth University.
