Steven Rough,
MS, RPh, Director of Pharmacy,
University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics
Steve Rough is the Director of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, and Clinical Assistant Professor at the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy. Steve is also Director of the two year Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency Training and Masters Program at UW Hospital and also precepts pharmacy student clerkships in administration. Steve received his BS in Pharmacy (1991) and MS in Hospital Pharmacy Administration (1994) from University of Wisconsin, Madison School of Pharmacy. He completed residency training in Pharmacy Practice/Health-System Pharmacy Administration in 1994 at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Steve has coordinated and implemented progressive pharmacy services in virtually all practice settings.
In 2003, Steve received Pharmacy Society of Wisconsins Pharmacist of the Year award, and also the ASHP Best Practices Award for his paper describing the impact of point of care bar code medication scanning technology on medication error reduction. Steve was also the principal author of the application that landed UW Hospital and Clinics the coveted 2003 American Hospital Association Quest for Quality Prize. In 2006, Steve accepted the inaugural ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Residency Program Excellence Award on behalf of the UW Hospital and Clinics administrative residency and masters program. He recently served as co-creator of the ASHP Managers Boot Camp Workshop and ASHP State Affiliate Student Leadership Development Workshop. Most recently, in July 2009 Steve was awarded the UW Hospital and Clinics Presidential Leadership Award provided annually to a department director for exceptional sustained leadership across the organization and in the community.

Heath Jennings,

Heath R Jennings, PharmD, BCPS is the Director of Pharmacy and Acute Care Services, Director of Investigational Drug Services, and Director of Graduate Pharmacy Education at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He is also Associate Professor of Pharmacy at Chicago State University and Adjust Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy. In addition to BS and PharmD degrees, he completed ASHP-accredited residencies in Pharmacy Practice and Critical Care at the University of Kentucky and graduate research training and fellowships in Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences and Cardiology Pharmacy. Active in ASHP and state affiliates in Kentucky and Illinois, Heath has served as member of the House of Delegates for ASHP; Treasurer, Board of Directors, and Program Committee for KSHP; and Governmental Affairs and Professional Affairs Committees for ICHP. He has published in and provides referee services to AJHP as well as a variety of professional journals. Jennings has presented extensively at state, national, and international pharmacy meetings and is recognized nationally and internationally for his work in cardiovascular pharmacology, medication safety systems, clinical pharmacy training models, and clinical pharmacy productivity measurement systems. His recognitions include the ASHP Best Practice Award, Kentucky Pharmacist of the Year, KHA Hospital Quality Award, and Ernest Amory Codman Award.

John Pastor, III,
PharmD, Assistant Director of Pharmacy,
University of Minnesota Medical Center
John Pastor, Pharm.D. serves as the Assistant Director of Pharmacy for the University of Minnesota Medical Center and the University of Minnesota Amplatz Childrens Hospital. His current responsibilities include the management of clinical services and leading a staff of five clinical leaders and forty clinical pharmacists. John is responsible for regulatory compliance and medication safety, as well as the provision of experiential education for 160 student rotations each year for the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy.
John has held both elected and appointed positions at the local, state and national levels. He is currently the Chair of the Education Steering Committee for the Section of Pharmacy Practice Mangers and represents Minnesota in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists House of Delegates. He is a Past-President of the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and is also involved with the University Health-System Consortium Pharmacy Council serving on the Strategic Initiatives and Programming Committee. John is passionate about his work with team-building and staff development, as well as patient-centered improvement projects. John received his pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota, and completed an ASHP-accredited residency in Pharmacy Practice at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinic.
