Currently practicing as an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, MI. I manage a part-time lipid clinic along with all of the advanced student education at my facility. In addition, I am active in my local pharmacy organization, the Southeastern Michigan Society of Health System Pharamacists, as I have been a Programming Committee for the last 3 years. Prior to my current position, I completed my PharmD at Wayne State University, followed by a general practice residency at the Detroit Medical Center. I then finished a Primary Care residency at Harborview Medical center in Seattle, WA. I have been active in the SHACCP Programming Committee for 3 years and this is the 3rd session that I have moderated.

Peter Dumo completed his BSc(Pharm) at Dalhousie University, a hospital pharmacy residency at the Ottawa Hospital and received his Pharm.D. from Wayne State Univesity. Peter has practiced as as a clinical staff pharmacist, clinical pharmacy specialist/faculty member, pharmacy manager and most recently as a community pharmacy owner. As a clinical pharmacy specialist, Peter has practiced in ambulatory cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonary, infectious diseases and anticoagulation clinics. Peter's current focus is on developing clinical models of pharmaceutical care in the community pharmacy setting that are clinically and financially sound.

Dr. Linda A. Jaber is a Professor at Wayne State University. She has been extensively involved in the field of diabetes. Her research program focuses on determining response differences in patients with type 2 diabetes to chronic hypoglycemic agents. To date, this research evaluated the effects of chronic dosing, age, and obesity on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of sulfonylurea agents and the efficacy and safety of combination therapies such as insulin-metformin combined therapy. She received the National American Diabetes Association Clinical Research Award, a 3-year grant that examined the epidemiology of diabetes and the metabolic syndrome and their risk factors among the Arab American population. Currently, she is serving as the Principal Investigator in the 2-year NIH funded research study examining the feasibility of diabetes prevention in the Arab American community. She has published a number of papers in the clinical pharmacology literature and has had numerous scientific presentations at local and national meetings. She has received the Excellence in Research Award from The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation. Dr. Jaber is a member of the American Diabetes Association, and is on the editorial board of The Annals of Pharmacotherapy.
