Kim Coley,

Kim C. Coley, PharmD, FCCP is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and Director of the Center for Pharmacoinformatics and Outcomes Research. Dr. Coley’s research focuses on evaluating clinical outcomes of medications and examining patient and system factors that impact beneficial and adverse outcomes to medications. Most recently, Dr. Coley is evaluating the impact of a continuity of care record at reducing medication discrepancies in community-dwelling patients after hospital discharge. Dr. Coley serves on several national pharmacy award panels and is a reviewer for numerous psychiatry and pharmacy journals.

Dr. Erstad is currently a full Professor and Assistant Department Head in the Department of Pharmacy Practice & Science at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. He is also a Center Investigator for the Center for Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomics Research and a co-director for the Arizona Clinical Research Training Program. His clinical responsibilities are performed at University Medical Center. Dr. Erstads research interests pertain to critical care medicine with an emphasis on patient safety and related outcomes research - he has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Erstad was on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and has served on numerous committees and task forces for various organizations including AHRQ, USP, ISPOR, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Erstad was the first pharmacist to receive the Society of Critical Care Medicines Shubin-Weil Master Clinician/Teacher Excellence in Bedside Teaching Award.

Michael Miller,

Dr. Miller has been a registered pharmacist for over 20 years with experience in clinical, management, and research environments in private, government, and academic sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Science degree in Pharmacy Administration from the University of Arizona, and a Doctor of Public Health Degree from the Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. Dr. Miller is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy: Clinical and Administrative Sciences - Tulsa at The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. For the fourth consecutive year, Dr. Miller has been invited to speak at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting on topics related to research methods. Dr. Miller’s current research efforts involve the application of health literacy principles in pharmacy practice. Among the recent partners for his research initiatives are the Iowa Health System, Polk County Iowa Senior Services, the American Society of Health System Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation, and the University of Alabama – Birmingham Center for Education and Research on Therapeutics (CERTs).

Geoffrey Wall,

Dr. Geoffrey C. Wall is an Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy at Drake University, and Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. His clinical practice is with the Internal Medicine and Medical Intensive Care Teaching Services at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. Dr. Wall received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Utah in 1992 and his Doctor of Pharmacy from Idaho State University in 1998. He completed an ASHP-accredited Internal Medicine Specialty Residency at Scott and White Memorial Hospitals and Clinics in 1999. He is Board-Certified in Pharmacotherapy and is a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist. Dr. Wall has written a number of peer-reviewed papers and textbook chapters on a variety of topics, and has designed or participated in several clinical trials. His research interests include drug treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), drug allergy and rheumatologic disorders. He was selected as the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy/Drake University College of Pharmacy Teacher of the year 2000 and 2005 and was selected as Mentor of the Year in 2004. He was also named Iowa Hospital Pharmacist of the Year in 2004
