Steven C. Stoner, Pharm.D., BCPP
Dr. Stoner received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Nebraska College of Pharmacy in 1994 and has been a Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist (BCPP) since 1996, practicing in the field of psychiatric pharmacy since 1994. He graduated from an ASHP Accredited Psychiatric Pharmacy Practice Residency (Western Missouri Mental Health Center) in 1995 and completed a Psychiatric Fellowship in 1996. He has practiced at the Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center in St. Joseph, Missouri since completing his Fellowship. Dr. Stoner was awarded an NIH-NIMH Young Investigator Award in 1997 for his research project evaluating suicide attempts with antidepressants. Additionally, Dr. Stoner has been an ASHP Accredited Residency Program Director since 1997 and currently assists ASHP with residency site reviews. Dr. Stoner has been a faculty member with the UMKC School of Pharmacy since 1996 and currently holds the position of Clinical Professor and Interim Chair of the Division of Pharmacy Practice.

Dr. Julie Dopheide received her Pharm.D from the University of Nebraska and completed an ASHP accredited residency at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy. She is currently Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy, Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at USC Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine. Dr. Dopheide has an active clinical practice working with children adolescents and adults with psychiatric illness. She is active in ASHP, CPNP and NAMI and serves as USC's psychiatric pharmacy specialty residency program director.

Compare the clinical outcomes related to suicidality and suicide rates from recent antidepressant trials assessing the effectiveness of depression treatment in children, adolescents, and adults.
Describe the role of antidepressants and adjunctive pharmacotherapeutic agents for the treatment of depression including necessary monitoring.
Explain the clinical impact on depression treatment and suicide rates before and after the introduction of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's mandated suicidality warnings.
Identify risk factors associated with use of antidepressants and increased suicidal behavior and ideation.
