I have trained over 90 residents in my career and mentored numerous clincal pharmacists, pharmacy students, staff and young leaders. My interest in helping pharmacists be successful comes from my work on Leadership and the publication of Success Skills in AJHP which will continue in 2008.

Lisa Gersema, Pharm.D., Director of Pharmacy, United Hospital
LISA M. GERSEMA, PHARM.D., BCPS is the Director of Pharmacy and the Residency Program Director at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. She completed her B.S., Pharm.D., and Fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Iowa.
Her career has focused on advancing pharmacy practice in a decentralized clinical care model. An emphasis has been to encourage staff to advance their professional and leadership skills. More recently, she has concentrated attention on the implementation of an electronic medical record and CPOE and its impact on the role of the pharmacist.
Gersema’s ASHP service includes Chair of the Council on Pharmacy Practice, member of the Commission on Therapeutics, and ASHP state delegate.
Jennifer Tryon, PharmD., MS, Pharmacy Operations Manager, Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital
Jennifer Tryon is the Assistant Director of Pharmacy for Inpatient Services at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. She completed a two-year specialty residency and Masters in Pharmacy Administration in 2006 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics after graduating from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2004. Her current responsibilities at OHSU include expansion of the clinical program, pyxis and technology oversight, narcotic processes, and sterile preparation, and teaching. She has been involved with ASHP as a member of the Section Advisory Group on Leadership Development, and the Council of Pharmacy Management.
