Sharon Murphy Enright is a pharmacist and has been a consultant to healthcare provider organizations including hospitals, health systems and health plans, physician practice groups, long term care organizations, healthcare associations and group practice organizations, the investor community and to the pharmaceutical and device industries for over 20 years. With a focus on leadership development, change management, strategic forecasting, quality and performance improvement, pharmaceutical marketing and safety of the medication use process, Enright has been a speaker for a host of audiences and is a frequent contributor to the professional literature. Her knowledge of pharmacy operations, organizational design and culture, change management, emergent pharmacy practice issues and a global perspective on the emerging health care landscape, health economics and payment systems enable her to provide insight and perspective related to the medication use process and the business of pharmacy.
Enright is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy (BS, Pharmacy) and the George Washington University (MBA). She completed an ASHP accredited residency at Yale New Haven Hospital as well as the Executive Residency in association management at the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. She is currently Senior Manager with Ernst & Young’s Health Science Advisory Services (HSAS) in Richmond, Virginia. She serves as the service line leader for Managed Care and Medicare Part D service offerings within the Operations Efficiency and Pharmacy Solutions practice. |

Ms. Susan Boyer, MS, RPh, Vice President, Pharmacy and Laboratory Services, MultiCare Health System
Susan was recently promoted to Vice President, Pharmacy and Laboratory Services, MultiCare Health System, Tacoma, Washington in 2007 while retaining responsibility as Vice President, Professional Services, Good Samaritan Hospital, Puyallup, Washington, a part of MultiCare Health System. Susan received her BS in Pharmacy from the University of Washington in 1972 and completed her MS/Residency program in Pharmacy Administration from the Ohio State University in 1981. Susan brings many years of hospital and health-system leadership experience to Good Samaritan and MultiCare. Prior to joining Good Samaritan, Susan worked for MultiCare Health System, Tacoma, Washington for 17 years as Administrator of Pharmacy Services and Materials Management. Susan is actively involved with the profession of pharmacy. She currently serves in her eighth year as member, Washington State Board of Pharmacy. Susan has served as president, Washington State Society of Health System Pharmacists and member of the board of directors for the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. Susan also served as Chair, Council on Administrative Affairs for ASHP.
Susan serves as a new board member with the Pierce County chapter of the American Red Cross. She is married to Steven Boyer, a consulting geologist. Steve and Susan have a 15 year old son, Christopher, who keeps them busy with school activities and sports. Susan and her family are active members of Marine View Presbyterian Church. |

Description:
Following an introduction that sets the stage for the learning community, you will examine six key financial questions required of successful pharmacy leaders, with emphasis on communicating with the C-Suite and how the COO and CFO view the pharmacy department. Attendees will participate in an interactive dialog with hospital business experts.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the pivotal position of pharmacy business operations within health systems and its impact on organizational financial metrics and success.
- Apply strategies for improving communication with the C-Suite and other key departments.
- Explain key financial questions pharmacy leaders must address to proactively support overall organizational goals, aligned with effective pharmacy management.
