Sharon Murphy Enright is a pharmacist and has been a consultant to healthcare provider organizations including hospitals, health systems and health plans, physician practice groups, long term care organizations, healthcare associations and group practice organizations, the investor community and to the pharmaceutical and device industries for over 20 years. With a focus on leadership development, change management, strategic forecasting, quality and performance improvement, pharmaceutical marketing and safety of the medication use process, Enright has been a speaker for a host of audiences and is a frequent contributor to the professional literature. Her knowledge of pharmacy operations, organizational design and culture, change management, emergent pharmacy practice issues and a global perspective on the emerging health care landscape, health economics and payment systems enable her to provide insight and perspective related to the medication use process and the business of pharmacy.
Enright is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy (BS, Pharmacy) and the George Washington University (MBA). She completed an ASHP accredited residency at Yale New Haven Hospital as well as the Executive Residency in association management at the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. She is currently Senior Manager with Ernst & Young’s Health Science Advisory Services (HSAS) in Richmond, Virginia. She serves as the service line leader for Managed Care and Medicare Part D service offerings within the Operations Efficiency and Pharmacy Solutions practice. |
PRESENTER(S):
As Executive Director of the Department of Pharmacy Services at Clarian Health, Mr. Jorgenson's responsibilities include the direction and leadership for all pharmacy programs at the Indiana University Medical Center Hospital, Riley Children's Hospital, The Methodist Hospital and the new Clarian Cancer Specialty Hospital.
Mr. Jorgenson earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Master of Science in Hospital Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota. He also completed a two year residency in Hospital Pharmacy Administration at United and Children's Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Prior to joining Clarian, he was the Administrative Director of Pharmacy Services and the Associate Dean for Pharmacy at the University of Utah. He has served on editorial and advisory boards for health care providers and industry. He has also been an active member of ASHP, serving on the ASHP Commission on Credentialing and the Councils for Legal and Public Affairs and Administrative Affairs and in numerous state affiliated chapter positions. Mr. Jorgenson has authored over 30 publications and has provided over 100 invited presentations both nationally and internationally.
In addition to his hospital and college responsibilities, Mr. Jorgenson was responsible for the operation of Drug Information Services supporting the 2002 Winter Olympic Games as well as the Polyclinic Pharmacy which provided pharmacy services to the athletes and Olympic family.

Douglas E. Miller, Pharm.D.
Dr. Miller recently retired as Vice President & Chief of Pharmacy at Grady Health System in Atlanta, Georgia, and Adjunct Professor of Pharmacy at Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and is currently consulting in 340B, Medicare Part D, Managed Care, and pharmacy operations. Miller has also directed pharmacy programs at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia. At each of these institutions, Dr. Miller initiated ASHP-accredited residency programs and developed a strong clinical pharmacy program with college of pharmacy affiliations and faculty appointments for clinical preceptors.
Miller is a member of ASHP’s Section Advisory Group on Leadership Development, and served as a member of the ASHP Research and Education Foundation’s Center for Health-System Pharmacy Leadership Development Initiative Advisory Committee, and is currently a faculty member for the Pharmacy Leadership Academy. He also recently served as Chairman of the University Health-System Consortium (UHC) Pharmacy Council Research and Education Committee and as a member of the UHC Pharmacy Council Executive Committee. In 2008, Dr. Miller completed 35 years as a director of pharmacy, with various leadership titles during his career.

Robert (Bob) Carta, Assistant Vice President/Corporate Pharmacy Services, Carolinas HealthCare System
Mr. Carta is the Assistant Vice President of Corporate Pharmacy Services for Carolinas HealthCare System. In his role, he oversees the operational management and future planning developments of 16 acute care hospital pharmacies (ranging in bed size of 50-900), 4 ambulatory clinic 340B pharmacies, 4 retail pharmacies, 1 mail order pharmacy and 5 pharmacies in specialty hospitals (Rehab, Student Health Center, Behavioral Health, Long Term Care). The Division of Pharmacy has a combined budget of over $150 million in drug expenses and over $223 million in total operating expenses. Mr. Carta has served on many local and national pharmacy and community boards. |
