Description:
How do you compare to your peers when it comes to embracing and implementing IT solutions? In Part I of this session, experts will share the results from the ASHP 2007 Informatics Survey, which explored how hospitals, health systems, its leaders, and its staff use technology to safely and efficiently care for patients. Part II explores various models of the role of the Pharmacy Informatics Specialist as well as the skill sets and training needed to be successful in that role.
Learning Objectives:
- Compare and contrast one's institution's success at IT solutions with comparable hospitals and health-systems from around the country.
- Identify and discuss common risks and or unintended consequences encountered when implementing medication management supporting systems.
- Describe strategies for mitigating unknown or known risks when deploying medication management system solutions.
