College of Engineering and Technology, Brigham Young University
Dr. Campbell is chair of the Facility and Property Management program at Brigham Young University. He is the author of over 50 articles and books and is an international speaker, researcher and consultant. His work experience includes being an administrator for FHP Healthcare. He has served the U. S. government on the committee for Business Strategies for Public Capital Investment, National Academies of Science, in Washington, D. C.

Description
With the continued enhancements of computers, smartphone capabilities, and computing tablets, many professionals are lost in the current fog of technology. This session will share highlights from a research project that examined the five most accepted smartphones, tablets, and applications pertinent to the facility and construction profession. A panel discussion will also provide a look at the future use of personal electronics and what professionals can do to boost productivity and meet increased demands. This session will enable you to:
Identify how facility professionals currently use smartphones and tablets through reviewing research.
Develop a personal efficiency profile using smartphone and tablet technologies.
Identify which technology devices and applications rank highest.
Describe the future of handheld computing and how professional practices will change.
