Description
“Smart equipment” and “smart patient rooms” are driving changes in nursing staff workflow and in the patient environment. Equipment integration, technology workflow solutions, mobile devices, home-based monitoring, and integrated systems all affect nursing care and are issues that must be faced in planning projects today. As well, new government requirements to implement electronic medical records are prompting older facilities to evaluate physical limitations and infrastructure. This session will enable you to—
• Evaluate the impact of electronic medical records on architectural design and infrastructure.
• Identify what technologies support “smart patient rooms” and their impact on patient care.
LEARNER OUTCOMES:
-
Evaluate the Electronic Medical Records impact on architectural design and infrastructure.
-
Examine technology and work flow solutions that support better patient outcomes.
-
Identify what technologies support "smart patient rooms" and the impact to patient care.
-
Understand the operational questions to ask before implementing technology into your project.
