Dave Cottle, Vice President, Planning, Design & Construction,
Phoenix Children's Hospital
Dave has been in the construction and engineering field since 1970, 20 years of which have been in healthcare. He came from Poudre Valley Health System in Fort Collins, Colorado where he managed the Medical Center of the Rockies hospital project; a $300M LEED Certified project. Dave has been with Phoenix Children’s Hospital for 5 years and has successfully acquired his diverse PDC team and is currently constructing the hospitals 800 million dollar short-term strategic plan. He is active in ASHE (American Society of Healthcare Engineers) and has served on several boards of directors positions, including president of the local ASHE chapter in Colorado. Dave holds his Green/Built Certification and Construction Management Degree from Colorado State University.

Rick Rome serves as President and Board Principal of ccrd partners. In addition to Ricks
administrative and management duties for ccrd partners nine offices around the nation, he is still
actively involved as the Principal-in-Charge of numerous major healthcare projects throughout
the US and internationally. Ricks love of design and finding unique solutions for clients has
remained a priority for his 30+ years of experience in the consulting engineering field. Under Ricks leadership, ccrd partners opened their Phoenix office in 2007 to serve their
southwest United States clients in Arizona, Nevada, California and New Mexico. ccrd partners
is proud to be the MEP engineer for the new, highly acclaimed Phoenix Childrens Hospital.

Jeff Stouffer has dedicated his entire 25-year career to designing healthcare architectural
environments. He believes the fusion of evidence-influenced design and flexible planning
principles results in facilities that support the hospitals mission and the staffs operational
goals. A healthcare practice leader in Dallas, Jeff s focus includes pediatric, womens,
teaching and replacement campuses. Our goal is to create environments that inspire, designs that reinforce brands and
plans that produce operational efficiency.

Michael Wolfe is a Project Director in Kitchells Healthcare Division. Mike, joined the firm in 1994 and has played a pivotal role in the success of the Phoenix Childrens Hospital. Last year Michael was recognized as one of the 40 Under 40 in Engineering News.

Description
This panel of key members of the project team for an expansion of the campus at Phoenix Children’s Hospital will describe the innovative delivery methods used to complete the project under budget and ahead of schedule, while still satisfying the client-directed value proposition. This session will enable you to:
● Deliver lower operational costs through improved materials selection, reduced energy consumption, natural resource utilization, and building systems integration.
● Describe how evidence-based research influenced the design concepts applied at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and how results will be measured in areas such as patient outcomes and staffing efficiency.
● Explain how project outcomes are improved when the client and the design and construction team engage in a transparent discussion of project goals.
● Discuss how a client-led team can result in higher performing buildings and improved patient and family experiences as well as enhance a hospital’s overall value as a community resource.
