Description
This presentation will focus on the concept of hybrid operating rooms and issues related to the design, layout, and implementation of these highly sophisticated spaces. Several recent projects of this type will be examined, including a review of challenges and lessons learned. This session will enable you to:
● Explain the purpose and components of a hybrid operating room (OR) and the major design differences from a standard OR.
● Identify, based on the case studies, the procedure types and related imaging systems best accommodated by a hybrid OR.
● Describe the benefits and challenges unique to each of a number of different hybrid OR types.
● Discuss issues related to hybrid OR design such as systems procurement and functional layout requirements.
