Mr. Erickson is currently the Deputy Executive Director the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). He has been providing service to the health care community for over 35 years in the areas of Joint Commission Environment of Care compliance, NFPA Life Safety Code® compliance, management evaluations of engineering departments and environmental infection control. He is the past director of engineering for The Joint Commission (1977 – 1981) and past director of design and construction for the American Hospital Association (1985 – 1995). He currently represents AHA/ASHE on multiple National Fire Protection Association Technical Committees such as, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 1 Uniform Fire Code, NFPA 5000 Building Construction and Safety Code, NFPA 90A Heating and Ventilating Code, NFPA 70 National Electrical Code – Panel 15, and is the immediate past chairman of NFPA 110 Emergency Power Supply Systems and the current chair of NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities Technical Committees. Mr. Erickson has served on the Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Hospitals and Health Care Facilities since 1978, has been the Vice Chairman of the document for the past 10 years and is the Chairman of the 2010 and 2014 edition. He is a past Chairman of the NFPA’s Health Care Section and a past member of NFPA’s Standards Council and a past member of Joint Commission’s Committee on Health Care Safety on which he served for over 6 years. Mr. Erickson is a member of ASHRAE and served on its special project committee to write the Hospital and Clinics HVAC System Design Manual. He was also a member of the CDC review committee for the Guidelines of Environmental Infection Control. He is a featured speaker at national and local conferences on codes, standards, and environmental infection control.
Mike Crowley began his career as a Fire Protection Engineer with Rolf Jensen & Associates in 1980 with a BS in Fire Protection & Safety Engineering, and earned an MBA along the way. He is active in NFPA Technical Committees including NFPA 150 Standard on Fire and Life Safety in Animal Housing, NFPA 101 Healthcare Occupancies and Means of Egress, and NFPA 99 Fundamentals Committee Chair. Mr. Crowley is a Life Safety Code instructor teaching for NFPA. He is currently Senior Vice President and Central Region Manager for six offices of RJA. Mike is a consultant to architects, facility managers and building owners around the world.

David Stymiest P.E., CHFM, CHSP, FASHE is a nationally recognized speaker, trainer and author. He is presently a Senior Consultant at Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. providing a variety of compliance consulting services to SSR's healthcare clients. Before joining SSR, he was Senior EE for more than 10 years for Massachusetts General Hospital and the other hospitals of Boston-based Partners HealthCare System. David has over 40 years intensive professional experience in facilities and electrical engineering for health care, institutional, industrial, commercial, civil works, transportation, and electrical utility projects. He has also been an Owner and hospital engineer. He is acknowledged as a forward-thinking leading industry expert in the management, operation, testing, and application of emergency power systems in health care facilities. He is a CHFM, CHSP, ASHE Fellow and Registered PE in three states. David is Chairman of the NFPA Technical Committee on Emergency Power Supplies, which is responsible for NFPA 110 and NFPA 111.

She has 8 years of prior consulting experience as President of SBM Consulting, Ltd. She is a Fellow of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association. Previous positions include Director of Safety and Compliance for ASHE, and Associate Director, Standards Interpretation, Environment of Care Standards, for The Joint Commission.

Dave Dagenais is currently the Director of Plant Operations and Security at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. He is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manger, a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional and a SASHE with the American Society of Healthcare Engineers. Dave has been in the Healthcare industry and code development process for over 15 years. He currently sits on the following committees: NFPA 730 Technical Committee Guide for Premises Security, NFPA 731 Technical Committee Standard for the Installation of Electronic Premises Security Systems, NFPA Healthcare section Codes and Standards Review Committee, NFPA 99 Technical Collating Committee, NFPA 99 Technical Committee on Electrical Systems, NFPA 99 Technical Committee on Emergency Management and Security and he has been appointed to the NFPA Healthcare Interpretation Task Force. Dave has also served on several ASHE committees including education, conference planning and advocacy.
