Description
Technology project management during construction is crucial to the success of health care projects. This program will update attendees on the rapid changes in medical technology (both medical equipment and communications/IT equipment) and the impact these developments are having on project delivery. This session will enable you to-
• Discuss the impact continuous changes in medical technology, based on a review of the literature, have on the delivery of health care facility projects.
• State the advantages using alternative project delivery models can have, based on examples provided, when the project team must respond to the challenges presented by rapid changes in medical technology during the design and construction process.
• Identify new technologies, as presented, that project design teams must consider in order to design and build health care facilities that are adaptable to changes in medical technology.
• Explain the structural design and patient movement considerations that project teams must address, based on information provided, when planning technology equipment upgrades and additions.
