Jocelyn Stroupe is a principal with Cannon Design and leads the Healthcare Interiors practice. With over 25 years of experience, she effectively connects planning, programming, branding and facility management with cohesive, comforting interior design. She excels at working with clients to achieve optimistic interiors that create a positive experience for patients, family and staff. She is the current President of the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers and is an Evidence-Based Design Accredited Professional (EDAC). She also serves as co-chair of the Board of Advisors for the University of Tennessees College of Architecture and Design.

Dan Lee,

Mr. Lee has been serving architecture and interior design clients for the past twenty –eight years. Most of his client base has been in the healthcare industry. His projects span from coast to coast and exceed 15 million square feet. During Mr. Lee’s career he has served as Interior Architecture Principal for the Baylor Healthcare System. Most recently, his namesake firm, Dan Lee Associates was acquired by Halff Associates.
Mr. Lee taught design at Texas Woman’s University, Denton, TX and at El Centro College, Dallas, TX. He is a frequent national speaker and most recently served as a national judge for the: “Design Is” Shaw Carpet Award and he was recognized by the American Society of Interior Designers with the Merit Award for Best in Healthcare, Dallas Chapter in 2008.
He was a Founding Member of the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers and served as National President for the last four years. In addition, he has served as the National Corporate Forum Advisor for IIDA and is an active member of AIA, ASID, and IIDA.
Mr. Lee currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Richardson Regional Medical Center; Board of Directors; the Texas Association of Interior Design; Board of Regents for the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers and on the editorial Board of Medical Construction & Design Magazine.

Description
Health care facilities face numerous challenges and are continually experiencing change. Factors such as new technologies, volatile reimbursements, consumer demographics, and performance metrics impact the ability to deliver effective patient care at the same time health care providers are placing increased emphasis on delivering patient- and family-centered care and promoting a healing environment. This session will enable you to-
• Describe the role, based on information provided in the presentation, that health care interior design professionals play in providing quality patient care environments.
• Explain how the expertise of an interior design professional, based on best practices, impacts a project team's ability to create physical environments that enable health care providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Discuss, using a review of case studies presented, methods that can be applied to update existing areas in a health care facility to better meet the needs of patients and health care providers.
• List three innovative strategies, as demonstrated in case studies, for adapting the principles presented to other projects and scenarios.
