Description
The Geisinger Medical Center master plan yielded an operational model using an acuity-adaptable patient room and unit.
Along with Case Study 2, this session will enable you to-
• Discuss the differences between acuity-adaptable rooms, universal rooms, and standard critical care rooms, using the case study examples, and identify when they are appropriate for use in a project design.
• Discuss the challenge of coming up with creative solutions for aggressively scheduled projects faced by the case study design teams and how their approaches can be applied to other projects.
• Discuss how design teams can apply the lessons learned from these case studies to assess the appropriateness of various design modalities to a specific project.
• List three methods, as presented in case studies, that have been successfully used to measure the impact of design innovation on patient care.
-
Assess if Acuity Adaptable units/rooms are beneficial to hospitals
-
Describe team organization and communication necessary for moving a new model of care for a facility forward.
-
Identify unique characteristics of Acuity Adaptable rooms vs Universal Rooms and standard Critical Care Rooms
