Mark Arnold,
LEED® AP, Sr Project Manager - Healthcare Division,
JE Dunn Construction
Mark Arnold is a Senior Project Manager at JE Dunn Construction Company and has been with the company for over 21 years. His career at JE Dunn started at the firm’s headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. Mark spent 11 years in Kansas City moving up in his career, performing project management for a variety of project types including a number of large healthcare projects. In 2000, Mark and his wife of 25 years, Peggy, along with their two daughters, Danielle and Karlee moved to Denver, Colorado to lead project teams for the newest JE Dunn office.
Mark graduated with a B.S. in Construction Management from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 1985. He has been ASHE Healthcare Construction Certified since 2006 and is also a LEED Accredited Professional.
Mark was the lead Senior Project Manager on the Medical Center of the Rockies and his work has been focused primarily on healthcare construction for 15 of his 26 years of experience.

Margie Snow is a principal of Gallun Snow Associates, Inc., a firm specializing in sustainable interior design for the healthcare, educational and institutional field. As a LEED Accredited Professional, sustainable healthcare design is a personal passion for her and is a focus for the firm. Margie was the interior design principal for the 590,000 SF LEED Gold certified Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO.

Russell Sedmak,
RA, Vice President / Director of Healthcare Design,
Heery International, Inc.
Russ Sedmak has over 25 years of architectural experience with large and technically-complex projects. He has been with Heery for over 20 years, and is Vice President in the Denver office. He completed the design and construction administration for Medical Center of the Rockies (MCR), leading and directing the entire team of over 100 design and engineering professionals over a four-year period. The facility recently achieved LEED Gold Certification, one of only two hospitals in the nation to achieve this rating and the only hospital of its kind in Colorado.
Russ has spent the majority of his career designing and producing healthcare projects in the Rocky Mountain region and currently directs the architectural staff on various projects at several hospital and outpatient facilities. In addition, he has lent his expertise in healthcare planning and design on large replacement hospital projects, managed by Heery, across the United States and the United Kingdom.

Description
The architect and owner of the Medical Center of the Rockies will analyze the design and utility considerations for this project as well as the LEED certification scorecard. Three years of operations data will be presented, along with recommendations and expectations of return on investment for the implementation of a LEED Gold project. This session will enable you to-
• Utilize information on the hard and soft returns from achieving a LEED Gold rating in health care environments to achieve effective, affordable sustainability projects.
• Identify how sustainable design affects service output, building operations, and postoccupancy technology advancements and apply this information to health care projects.
• Describe how project teams can assess, based on the case study, sustainability practices and their projected effect on facility operations and finances.
• List various evaluation techniques, based on a review of lessons learned, that can be used to assess the return on investment of various sustainability efforts.
