Ed Tinsley is a Principal for TME, Inc with more than 25 years of experience in facilities engineering as a consultant and as an owner representative for hospital, university, commercial and industrial clients. Ed was presented with the 2010 Crystal Eagle Award.
Todd Wilkening, CHFM, CHST, Director, Facilities, Ridgeview Medical Center
Todd Wilkening has 25 years of experience in Health Care Facilities Management. A say it like it is presenter, he has spoke numerous times at state and national events to include Practice Green Health (PGH), The Joint Commission, American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE), University of Minnesota, and the International Facility Managers Association (IFMA).
He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Construction Management & the University of St. Thomas in Business Administration. Todd has lead to way for his employer, Ridgeview Medical Center in obtaining several awards of excellence to include the Minnesota Governors Award for Pollution Prevention, Twin City Health Care Engineers Association (TCHEA) George Burton award for Excellence, 7 time winner of the PGH Environmental Leadership Award, and also has received the 2013 Sustainability Tracking Award. Todd has just completed his 5 year term as the Vice President of Research for the International Facility Managers Associations Health Care Institute (IFMA-HCI) and is now sitting as IFMAs committee chair for health care Facility Management benchmarking.

Shari Epstein, CAE, Director, Research, International Facility Management Association (IFMA)
Shari Epstein is the director of research for the IFMA. In her 17 years with IFMA, Shari has conducted a number of studies in the area of FM including those related to office design, sustainable buildings, emergency preparedness and energy efficiency. Ms. Epstein is the author of IFMAs forecasting reports and benchmarking studies. Excerpts from her research have been cited in many publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Forbes and USA Today. Shari holds a bachelors degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a masters of business administration from Texas A&M University.
Description
This session will present results from a 2009 IFMA/ASHE benchmarking survey covering key health care facility operations issues. It will address performance measures and how they are applied to the business of health care facility management. This session will enable you to--- • Discuss ways to use the data to evaluate staffing and operational and utility costs. • Explain how to apply the results of the survey to individual facilities.
