Description
Health care facilities and organizations need help finding opportunities to reduce energy and water use, and address their contribution to climate change. ASHE has developed a set of tools to help you better understand the issues, pending legislation, and terminology related to this important topic. Need to develop energy reduction targets between now and 2050? Want to undertake a renewable energy facility assessment to determine the feasibility of installing onsite generation capability at about the same cost as your current electricity bill? Need support in presenting your Csuite with a climate action plan? The ASHE Roadmap can help. This session will enable you to—
• Describe the tools and resources ASHE offers its members to help them understand and address environmental challenges. • Discuss success stories and case studies from your colleagues who have already started using the ASHE Roadmap to a Sustainable Environment.
LEARNER OUTCOMES:
Learn about energy methods undertaken by LEED certified hospitals.
Learn what hospitals need to do to ensure better performing buildings.
Learn why LEED certified healthcare facilities are underperforming.
Understand the actual performance of LEED hospitals as opposed to the expected levels of energy efficiency.
