Norman Rosenfeld's architectural practice has expanded the boundaries of healthcare architecture over the past 40 years. He has established a reputation for designing architecturally innovative and technologically sophisticated medical projects while pursuing humanistic approaches to hospital environments.
He has written and lectured on design principles that emphasize criteria for projects that are patient-sensitive, staff-efficient, and family-supportive.
Over 70% of Mr. Rosenfeld's healthcare projects (by quantity) have been bringing new life and functions to aging hospital areas.
Mr. Rosenfeld is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a Founding Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Architects.

Description
While many new and replacement hospitals have been built since the 1946 HillBurton Act, there continues to be significant, economically viable value in the existing aging stock. These buildings hold many advantages for renewal as well as challenges to accommodate new uses and upgrades to meet new code requirements. This session will enable you to—
• Establish criteria for evaluation and selection of optimum space.
• Evaluate project outcomes for challenges met, including time, budget, space need, and user acceptability.
