During his 20+ year career, Mr. Workman has managed EOC, Life Safety, Emergency Management, OSHA, EPA and safety programs in five major hospitals in the Northeast, Southwest, and Midwest. Mr. Workman has served as the resident expert for 15 hospitals in the North Texas area and improved compliance by 91% in the Physical Environment. He has also serves on the Texas Association of Healthcare Facilities Management (TAHFM) board for region 5.
Mr. Workman has personally prepared Statement of Conditions and completed Life Safety Code evaluations for numerous facilities over the past 20 years. Mr. Workman has trained Hospital Engineering Directors, Safety Officers and Emergency Management professionals on the topics of Compliance with The Joint Commissions standards, NFPA/Life Safety Code, Hospital Incident Command Systems (HICS), Patient Safety, Building Maintenance Programs, Emergency Management and preparation for The Joint Commission survey. In addition to his extensive knowledge on The Joint Commissions healthcare standards, Mr. Workman is a HICS Train-the-Trainer, Certified in refrigerant management, decontamination procedures, and a Master Training Specialist from the U. S. Navy.
Mr. Workman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Roger Williams University, in Bristol, Rhode Island, holds the Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) and the newly created Certified Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professional (CHEP) designations, and is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), American Society of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineers (ASHRAE), and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
