Northwest Medical Center
Richard is a Tucson native and has been with Northwest Medical Center since 2007. He returned to Tucson after opening a replacement hospital in Vicksburg, Mississippi where he lived for 5-years. 5-years prior to that, he opened a new hospital in Irving, Texas being the 13th person hired at that hospital.
His background is a mix of general maintenance, but mostly carpentry. Richard was involved in hospital responses to Hurricane Katrina and Rita and has many stories of interesting events in Vicksburg. He focused his education on Business Management through Belhaven College in Jackson Mississippi, completing his MBA in 2006.
Richard serves as the Administrative Director for NWMCs non-clinical departments. This includes Plant Operations, Environmental Services, Transportation, Security, Biomed and Linen.
Richard enjoys camping with his boys and enjoying the outdoors. He owns a couple telescopes and gets out to skywatch as often as he can.
Richard has been happily married for 20-years to his wife Jennifer and has two boys 5 and 14 years old.

Description
Facility managers often seek opportunities to expand their areas of oversight to other services—but many facility managers have these additional responsibilities thrust upon them. Managing this expanded role successfully requires getting out of one’s comfort zone and developing an understanding of different types of employees and the services provided by support departments. This session will enable you to—
