Messer Construction Co., Inc.
I am a registered nurse with 20 years experience on the clinical and administrative side in hospitals and hospital ships including eight years as an officer in the US Navy serving as a combat casualty nurse and expert medical witness with the JAG corps. I am ASHE certified and have presented at many conferences for healthcare safety, facilities managers and designers. I am the Director of Education for the Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design from Vanderbilt University and speak at many venues in this industry. I am also certified in Planning and Designing Better Hospitals from the University of Wisconsin College of Engineering. As the Director of Healthcare in my current role with Messer Construction I am involved with over $580 million of healthcare construction in the midwest. I have developed and trained over 200 healthcare site leaders in acceptable clinical standards for healthcare construction projects.

Ms. Redden currently serves as the Building Planning Project Director, Clinical Operations at the University of Texas, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. With over 35 years of healthcare experience, including 10 years at M.D. Anderson, she serves as a key liaison between clinical operations managers and faculty, and the staff in the Facilities Division. She is responsible for operational and activation planning, design support, faculty and staff transition, clinical operations transition, occupancy, and post-occupancy settlement of facility projects reporting to the Vice President and Chief, Clinical Operations. Recent projects include the activation of a new outpatient facility and adjoining office building (1 million sf), redevelopment of main campus clinical space, and the current construction of a nine-story addition to the inpatient facility. Additional project leadership includes planning and programming for the expansion of Perioperative services, Diagnostic Imaging services, and the expansion of clinical services into new facilities.
