Description
To properly master plan a modern healthcare facility you must address the IT system needs. To meet today''s standard of care, it''s critical to keep healthcare facility infrastructure on pace with evolving technologies. Infrastructure planning for information technology systems should happen during team selection, not part of initial facility programming. Particularly with the design of larger, more complex facilities. Technology has potential impacts on construction budgets, space allocation, emergency power calculations, HVAC requirements. Therefore, it is vital to plan for these systems early in the process.
This presentation will discuss the need for technology infrastructure master planning and the process to achieve that. The following are key steps to take into consideration:
Site Survey and Assessment
Review and Develop standards
Strategic Budgeting
Strategic Planning
Implementation Planning
-
Learn basic strategies to complete a successful technology master plan.
-
Understand the impacts of hardened IT systems on facilities.
-
Understand the importance of technology infrastructure planning.
