Description
Having been involved in over 300 commissioning projects, we will present the pros/cons/lessons learned for our Building Commissioning experience, and other notable experiences. Ranging in size from 500 SF to 7 million SF, our experience with different clients/project types have given us a firsthand experience as what many people "think" or "perceive" commissioning to be. Commissioning is not: Construction observations (punch list), Start up, Testing, Adjusting and Balance (TAB) — these are elements of building commissioning. I.e. - start up is a process to protect the equipment, not protect the Owner's interests. What commissioning IS: Commissioning is to a process to ensure the Owner's project requirements are achieved; the systems operate as required and with optimum efficiency. What's LEED commissioning? What are and the explanation of different commissioning efforts: tactical, strategic, or full commissioning.
The quality of design, construction, start-up, and operation of Healthcare facilities varies from region to region. We'll show case studies of projects that were commissioned at startup, after years of operation, and show the value (operational dollars, maintenance dollars, spare capacity) for numerous case studies. Demonstrate some significant return on investments and how attendees can take away some "gold nuggets" of information to apply to their projects

What Commissioning IS NOT – what things people think are commissioning, but really are just a component of the true commissioning process
