Description
The Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) is intended to meet the needs of all hospitals of any size and in any location. But some organizations struggle with the system as it comes "out of the box." Many of the positions are rarely needed, and the complexity of some organizations necessitates additional roles that are not included. This session will provide overall guidance in HICS customization through the experiences of a hospital that has gone through the process. This session enables attendees to:
- Compare the HICS organizational chart to the way their hospital functions
- Describe opportunities to condense and modify the HICS organizational chart
- Evaluate the implementation experiences of a hospital that has undertaken HICS customization
