Mike Crowley began his career as a Fire Protection Engineer with Rolf Jensen & Associates in 1980 with a BS in Fire Protection & Safety Engineering, and earned an MBA along the way. He is active in NFPA Technical Committees including NFPA 150 Standard on Fire and Life Safety in Animal Housing, NFPA 101 Healthcare Occupancies and Means of Egress, and NFPA 99 Fundamentals Committee Chair. Mr. Crowley is a Life Safety Code instructor teaching for NFPA. He is currently Senior Vice President and Central Region Manager for six offices of RJA. Mike is a consultant to architects, facility managers and building owners around the world.

NFPA 101 is updated on a 3-year cycle. 2009 will be the next edition of the code. This presentation will address the major changes to the healthcare requirements and the impact on new and existing healthcare facilities.
