Description
The case study explores the impact of current nursing unit design issues on patient and staff outcomes by comparing centralized nursing unit design to
de-centralized nursing unit design. The objective examines both of these designs and their impact on staff injuries, job satisfaction, and retention; as well as patient incidents and satisfaction. This session enables attendees to:
•Describe approaches (research methods) to healthcare design research.
•Discuss strategies for conducting multi-site studies in healthcare.
•Evaluate salient issues in nursing unit design.
