Description
Incorporation of electronic portfolios into education is becoming an established best practice. In health professions education, e-portfolio development enhances student learning experience by facilitating self assessment and critical thinking about clinical practice. E-portfolio systems can be used to gather longitudinal outcomes data, reducing the time expended in gathering information for accreditation.
Learning Objectives
• Initiate the process of identifying an appropriate eportfolio system that meets the assessment needs of the faculty and the institution
• Develop a plan for how various e-portfolio formats might be used to demonstrate learning outcomes in a course or program
• Develop assessment tools to evaluate student outcomes based on program competencies
