Description
Dental schools, like other health care institutions, continue to enhance the delivery of patient care by incorporating electronic patient records (EPR) and other technologies into the clinical arena. The use of these electronic tools in clinic management and their impact on the faculty-studentpatient relationship is addressed.
Learning Objectives
• Identify how electronic patient records (EPRs) affect clinical workflow and be able to construct pre- and post- EPR workflow charts for dental clinics
• Describe how EPRs affect the student-patient relationship and students' ethical choices in patient care and clinical education
• Describe changes required in a QA system due to implementation of an EPR
