Description
Learning Objectives
• Understand the current technology for shared courseware
• Conceptualize how a faculty member would convert existing lectures and syllabi into a format for submission
• Deal with the roadblocks to the use of this technology
• Learn how this technology can be used to reward faculty in the promotion and tenure process
The "Opencourseware" concept can help address several issues in dental education. With faculty and resource shortages, a system that facilitates the sharing of course materials among institutions is worth exploring. The open courseware concept will help faculty to "publish" peerreviewed materials that will help in the promotions and tenure process.
