Preparing and achieving a successful CEO transition
Description
This program will first present what type of individual becomes a CEO of a blood center in North America. The discussion will be based on a 2012 survey of 69 CEOs of blood centers in the United States and Canada. The survey analyzed educational background, reason for taking the job and attributes for success. The program will then review how to prepare and execute a CEO leadership transition based on a blood center case study in Quebec City, Canada. The transition planning includes maintaining public trust, having a set strategic plan and keeping the executive team intact during and after the transition to the new CEO.
