Description
As part of our daily processes we expect front line supervisors to be able to communicate with our quality department when there are problems or questions. Manufacturing and testing have a different focus than the quality department. How do we get beyond these differences to build the needed communication and understanding of the different roles? How do we transition an individual from the front line into a quality role? Often we see a supervisor who does a good job at managing processes and projects and move them into a quality role, but what do they need to make this transition?
-
Describe some of the steps in transitioning from a manufacturing or testing role into a quality role.
-
Describe ways to eliminate the Us versus Them mentality that makes communication with the quality department difficult.
-
Discuss Quality principles that are used routinely in the blood center and the transfusion service.
-
Discuss the collaborative role of a quality person that must help the testing and manufacturing supervisors traverse the regulatory requirements.
