Description
This session will focus on transfusion-transmitted babesiosis in the US and the progress that has been made towards blood donation screening. Speakers will describe the epidemiology of babesiosis in the US, focusing on transfusion-transmitted babesiosis; provide a perspective from public health agencies on physician education efforts in states where babesiosis is endemic; and relate their experiences with blood donor testing under IND protocols.
