Description
The unique hematopoietic developmental aspects of neonates pose particular challenges for transfusion medicine specialists, particularly in regards to RBC and platelet transfusion practice. This session will review the unique developmental and pathophysiological neonatal aspects of neonatal anemia and thrombocytopenia and provide evidence-based rationale for current practice.
