Description
Today's Blood Centers face the challenge of designing educational tools which create enthusiasm to reduce problems, ensure compliance, and ensure a safe blood supply. In addition there is a need to improve communication between departments regarding procedures at blood drives. This educational session will present creative cost effective interactive tools, which cross generational and functional lines and create an environment conducive to learning, contributing to a significant impact in problem reduction. The curriculum designs, several modeled after game shows, provide flexibility during non peak donor times and create fun competition amongst staff as well as enthusiasm and excitement.
LEARNER OUTCOMES:
-
Compare adult learning concepts to create learning tools which will reduce problems, increase compliance, and improve communication between departments.
-
Demonstrate how these learning tools create fun competition, enthusiasm, and fun!
-
Discuss creative educational tools which improve interdepartmental problem solving.
-
Discuss how to create interactive learning tools through use of game models.
-
Show how interactive learning tools can be used by collection staff alone, in small groups, and all staff meetings reaching as many as 600 in a cost effective manner.
