Description
This session will discuss how environmental monitoring systems, their strengths and weaknesses and how to choose and best deploy one of the many systems available. Speakers who are end users of three systems will discuss their experience with some large and small systems.

LEARNER OUTCOMES:
  • Describe the nature of how environmental monitoring systems work and common mistakes to avoid in their implementation.
  • Discuss methods by which to justify the expense of purchasing and installing such a system.
  • Explain how to validate, test and maintain a computerized environmental monitoring system.
  • Identify some of the unintended consequences of using a computerized system and how to best avoid them.
