Description
Cell therapy (CT) products are tested prior to release and distribution for safety, purity and potency, mainly using methodologies that have not changed much over the years. As the field of CT evolves to include licensed products and a growing number of novel therapies, the methods available for testing these products have also evolved. Speakers in this session will present some of the new technologies available for CT product testing, such as rapid tests for mycoplasma and endotoxin, cell enumeration and potency. Pros and cons of the new technologies, as well as challenges relating results to clinical outcomes, will also be presented.
