Description
This workshop will help medical directors, operations managers, and quality coordinators understand principles of quality and risk management. Attendees will learn quality indicators in patient blood management such as type and screen specimen evaluation for elective surgery patients. The speakers will present on detection of errors, conduct of investigations, and implementation of corrective and preventative action plans.
- Describe implications for hospital quality oversight and regulatory/accreditation.
- Gain knowledge regarding upcoming quality indicators in patient blood management: for example, type-and-screen specimen evaluation for elective surgery patients.
- Review error management: investigations of root cause, corrective/preventive action plans and quality improvement: for example, wrong blood in tube.
